This sure has been an interesting year for the most of us. A small percentage of the world thought that we would all be wiped out by now. As violence has continued to grow throughout our planet, we must reflect on the positive that has been bestowed upon us. Many were hoping that this would be a year of resolve, that our Country would get their finances in order, the World governments would get their affairs in order and the misguided would get their acts together.
The cool thing is that many, many people who were misguided have seen resolve throughout this past year. I am one of those lucky individuals, I assume; who through all the negativity of the year, have been able to tune out most of the nonsense and get reunited with the only thing that makes sense. A relationship with the creator, our God is the most powerful relationship you will ever have, it will bring more resolution to your mind, body and soul than one could ever imagine. A reunited relationship with Christ will bring back that peace that surpasses all understanding, that joy that you held deep inside yourself. Allowing the Holy Spirit to move through you will expose your weaknesses while strengthening your values and reinforcing your foundation. It is upon this solid foundation that we can begin to lay out the pieces of our puzzled lives and see the picture as the creator had originally intended. True Resolution.
So Why do we start the new year off with these plans of things we should resolve over the next year? If anything, take advantage of the last 26 hours of this year and resolve those issues now. (1 Peter 5:7) casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. Forgive those who have offended you now and put behind you the worthless follies that have been thrown at your feet this year. 2012 may very well be a year of celebration to some, it may be a year of misery to others, but whatever it is to you, it is over and done as far as history is concerned.
Now, lets look at the upcoming year with a new perspective, forgetting resolutions, since we are taking care of those now. Why not make the wise choice and make 2013 about evolution, creating something better than what we had when we started. Daily focus on the creator our God, thanking Him for the great love he has shown us and build from that. Every day focus on loving your neighbor and growing in a closer and more intimate relationship with your Savior. Evolve to walk in the footsteps of Christ, thirsting for knowledge, seeking truth and loving everyone. Evolve into a new creation and fulfill the promise given when Christ overcame death!
